Black and White Family Portraits

Everyone needs some black and white family portraits in their life and home! Sometimes, it happens that a portrait looks great in color, but it really moves you in black and white.

And that’s exactly what happened with this Georgetown family’s portraits.

During the design and ordering appointment, I showed the whole family several mock-up collages, including this one, and the effect was immediate – love at first sight! Some of these portraits were originally in color, so we changed them to black and white family portraits and the effect was nothing short of stunning – and the kids think so, too!

It was important to the family to have classic, timeless, yet candid portraits. So in addition to more posed family portraits, we included daddy and children in a tickle fight, and a bit of a cheeky moment with mother and son!

Stunning, right? These are just some of the beautiful portraits we created for this family!

These beautiful, incredible portraits were installed for this family – and for every family – by our professional installers. Here are the dimensions:

The middle black and white family portrait is 36×36″, the other four surrounding it are 14×20″. All have 3″ matting and approximately 1″ clean black framing.

The outdoor portraits portraits of the children installed in the bedroom are also 14×20″ with 3″ white mat, and the same frame, just in white instead of black.

All portraits are glazed with Conservation Clear glass except for the large one in the collage, which is glazed with premium acrylic due to weight concerns. (See? Thinking ahead!)

The text I received was the final thrill:

[Lucy] was kissing all the portraits. This snapshot does the collage no justice! This makes my heart burst. Feels so grown up in here 😀 I can’t believe this is my family. Thank you, Anna

Curious about an family portrait of your own? I’d love to chat with you!

The W family had their reveal last night and so now I can finally show these off - and one of these is a gorgeous 36×36” portrait above their fireplace!
