I met Alva a little over a year ago (it seems like so much longer) at the Georgetown Bridal Show. She was modeling one of the bridal gowns and shown like a queen in a beautiful champagne colored gown that glowed against her incredible skin. I was sure she would say no, but I had to try, so I asked if she would model for me and to my astonishment and delight she said yes in the prettiest English accent I’ve ever heard. 

She is one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve had the honor of photographing, and when she agreed to model for me last weekend, even though it was barely 30 minutes, it was a joy to catch up with her and her family’s adventures.
