too not me.

but then my cute friends got married and my cute friend got pregnant and she had a cute baby.

‘leo’ for short, because his name is too long and exotic for me to pronounce here.

and i thought, ‘why not?’ i’d get some cute portfolio shots, try out some poses i figured i would want if i were married with a baby.

but these two lovely souls welcomed me, not only into their homes, but into a very personal, very sacred space – into some very sacred moments. i consider it an honor to have been there, with this new child – this thing that was once inside you and is now outside of you, living and breathing – it’s own entity. It’s horrifying and beautiful and astonishing all at once. To be able to document this whole, perfect, quite, simple chaos was clarifying. to be with a being so small you can barely hear it breathe. a little body so utterly and totally and heartbreakingly dependent on you, you can’t help but love it.

i might be hooked on this.

plus, come on you guys: that baby smell? it’s ridic.
