Last year I got to do some recital portraits for a local Austin dance company and it. was. the. best. All these cute little girls in their cute little costumes and little dance shoes and little dance poses. I mean, some of them are barely out of diapers and had only been dancing 6 months, and gosh, these faces. BONUS: an older dancer is featured at the bottom! They have some pretty serious dancers, too!
On a more technical note, up to this point last year I’d been a bit intimidated and put off by studio lighting, but once I tried it, I was hooked – the idea that you can create light in a dark room and manipulate it do what you say??? Pretty freaking cool. So I took these.
